The Other Side Academy saves lives by changing behaviors. A 2 1/2 year minimum training school where students learn prosocial and vocational and life skills allowing them to emerge with a healthy life on “the other side”. This work-based program is available as an alternative to those facing long-term incarceration as well as those seeking a change from the life they’ve chosen in the past.

HELP BUILD THE OTHER SIDE IN BOISE

Idaho's incarcerated population is approaching 10,000 people, and drug offenses continue to play a significant role in Idaho's corrections system. Too many people cycle through addiction, crime, incarceration, and unemployment without finding a lasting path forward.

The Other Side Academy offers a proven alternative that creates lasting change while reducing the burden on taxpayers.

Per student: $130,000 saved each year for every student who remains crime-free and drug-free.

Per year: $3.2 million saved by taxpayers annually.

Since The Other Side Academy opened: More than $24 million saved since 2015.

Once fully operational, The Other Side Academy will cover 100% of its annual expenses with revenue generated by the social enterprises run by program participants. No ongoing fundraising will be needed to keep the doors open. We will only raise funds to expand and serve more people.

It will be a profitable nonprofit.

We have done it in Salt Lake, we have done it in Denver, and we will do it in Boise.

For Boise, this means a new solution for addressing some of our most difficult challenges.
