The Other Side Academy is coming to Boise. We need community leaders who believe people can
change to help make it possible.
The Other Side Academy is long term, residential, peer-led community for people ready to leave
addiction and criminal behavior behind. Through accountability, work, responsibility, and community,
students learn how to build productive, self-reliant lives.
It’s free. It’s hard. It works.

Boise has an opportunity to help make that change possible.
Idaho’s incarcerated population is approaching 10,000 people, and drug offenses continue to play a
significant role in Idaho’s corrections system. Too many people cycle through addiction, crime,
incarceration, and unemployment without finding a lasting path forward.
The Other Side Academy offers a different approach.
Instead of simply managing destructive behavior, TOSA helps people change it.
Students live together, work together, hold one another accountable, and learn the
skills and habits necessary to become drug-free, crime-free, employed, and self-reliant.
For Boise, this means a new solution for addressing some of our most difficult public-safety and
workforce challenges. A solution built around transformation rather than dependency.

The Other Side Academy began in Salt Lake City in 2015 and expanded to Denver in 2018.
Now, experienced Academy leadership and
three Boise business leaders are working together to establish and Academy in Idaho.
The Boise launch will be supported by Joseph Grenny, Tim Stay, Dave Durocher, experienced TOSA
staff, and senior students from Salt Lake City. The Academy team will bring the culture, experience, and
lessons learned from existing Academies to Boise from day one.
This isn’t an experiment.
It’s a proven model being brought to a community ready to build something lasting.
